A long journey

Horses, Photography 7 luglio 2017

There is no darkness so dense, so menacing, or so difficult that it cannot be overcome by light.

Almost four months ago, Opositor had a bad accident.
He stumbled while galloping and fell on his right hind leg.
When he managed to stand up again, at the beginning, I thought he had a broken bone as he almost couldn’t move his leg at all.

I was… oh really, there are no words to explain how I felt… A moment before a fierce and strong horse was amazingly galloping and enjoying himself and then, a second after… he transformed into a fragile, scared and shaking creature who could barely walk.

The vet arrived and after x-rays and ultrasound, found out he pulled a tendon in his hind leg.

For weeks he wasn’t even allowed to walk, as a bad move could have compromised his healing.
Fortunately he coped unbelievebly well and I’ve found out I’ve got a really patient horse, which helped a lot with his recovery.
Slowly, with no rush, we got there eventually and two weeks ago, when the vet said he was completely healed I was so happy, relieved and many other mixed emotions that I wanted to keep live the moment and celebrate it in my own way… doing what?
A photoshooting, of course!

So here you have my handsome boy in all his splendor!
Walking thru the darkness to reach the light again.

Because the light will always overcome the darkness in the end.
